After an increase in pain these past few years from an unsightly, large bunion and a lifetime of deformed shoes, I finally sought help from my GP and was referred to Mr Kunasingam. From the first visit he made clear the procedure (which was to be keyhole surgery), the recovery time and the stages of recovery, which were surprisingly quick. Three small pins were to be inserted and part of the bone shaved off using 5 small stab like incisions. Surgery itself was under an hour and I was able to return home on the same day - weight bearing with use of a crutch. Following clear instructions to keep my foot elevated for several hours of the day, recovery was as quick as advised, despite my getting the bandage wet and having to have it changed! 3 months on there is minute scarring - lessoning all the time with continued massage as instructed. Staff at Epsom clinic (SWLEOC) and Mayday were all extremely helpful and pleasant at each visit. Mr Kunasingam is undoubtedly an extremely competent surgeon , but he is also incredibly cheerful and positive. Having for years listened to horror stories surrounding bunion surgery, I am so grateful that he carried out my mine. I cannot recommend highly enough him as a consultant/surgeon or this procedure.

I have suffered with bunions on both feet for years and I also had anxiety about showing my feet in public particularly at swimming pools and wearing sandals. I was in a lot of pain with my feet and coming from a catering background standing on your feet is part of the job. However when I changed jobs standing on my feet was reduced but I still had a lot of pain in my feet. So I decided to have bunion surgery. I was offered the procedure 8 years ago and I put it off. But as the pain had increased over the years and I was struggling to get shoes to fit me I decided to go ahead with the surgery. I was referred by my GP to Dr Kunasingam and from the first consultation Dr Kunasingam was very informative and supportive. I felt very confident that my surgery was going to go well. I had keyhole bunion surgery it was very quick and less invasive. I went home the same day and after a few weeks of rest, keeping my foot upright and following the exercises I was able to walk again. There is no perfect time to have surgery especially on your feet especially when raising two young children. Nevertheless I would encourage anyone to have bunion keyhole surgery to correct your feet. I feel so much happier. I will definitely be having keyhole bunion surgery on my right foot and I feel even more confident knowing that Dr Kunasingam will be operating again.

First met mr kumasingam before my operation back in February amazing doctor. I had a bunion operation to correct my big toe and bone taken away had to have pins Put in. The operation went really well. I was amazed when my bandages came of that there was hardly any scars at all. Didn’t have any pain at all while it was healing. Sometimes I get a little stabbing pains but are not painful. I would highly recommend mr kumasingam for your surgery. He’s very understanding. Explained the operation and exactly what he was going to do. Im now signed off that foot now. I’m waiting now for the surgery on my other foot. I am extremely happy with my surgery all thanks to mr kumasingam. I now have a new foot. Thank you.

Mr Kunasingam was a pleasure to deal with. He explained the procedure to deal with my arthritic ankle very clearly and the operation was a great success. It also improved my mobility in my other ankle and my knees.
